Louvre Museum is one of the museums that I looked forward to visiting while in Paris.
Thus, I was prepared to stand in the queue to get into the museum and all psyched up for the experience.
✦ Why Should You Visit The Louvre Museum?
Louvre Museum is one of the historic monuments in the city of Paris. It is also one of the world’s largest art museum.
This museum is located near the other major attractions in Paris.
It is a huge museum that you could literally spend a whole week or more walking through it. Certainly, the visitors to this museum are never disappointed, but they indeed leave tired.
The Louvre building became a museum in 1793.
This has since housed thousands of works of art from ancient cultures (Oriental, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman) as well as Western and Islamic civilizations. It exhibits extensive collections of sculptures, objects, paintings, drawings, and archaeological findings.
✦ Own Experience
I was in awe every second that I was there because the art inside is exquisite.
Apparently, many people come to just see the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the Venus de Milo, but there are priceless treasures in every room. Just be prepared for a huge crowd near Mona Lisa which is one of the crème de la crème of this museum.
Ther maps that are provided showing the different parts of the museum are quite easy to follow and this helped us to enjoy our visit.
The building is a piece of history in itself and its architecture is quite impressive. Definitely an iconic and a must-see while in Paris. Another reason for you to add this to your bucket list!
