After going on a shopping spree, we were looking for somewhere to go for a picnic ideally in scenic surroundings such as a park. Indeed, there was no better place than the Park Güell. This is because it was on our things to do list while in Barcelona.
The Park Güell
Park Güell is located in La Salut, in the Gràcia district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The park was officially opened as a public park in 1926. And in 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under Works of Antoni Gaudí.
As a matter of fact, Park Güell is one of the most spectacular sights of Barcelona, with millions of visitors flocking to see the architectural work of architect Antoni Gaudì. It exemplifies his fun, it’s exciting and has the most colorful and beautiful designs.
What To Expect While Visiting The Park Güell
In our adventure, we decide to walk from the city and its uphill to the Park Güell. The trek led us to an increasing beautiful panoramic view of the city and the garden with each step.
Wandering in this compact and whimsical park, was a sublime and a surreal way to spend a sunny afternoon in Barcelona. Sitting in the sun on the long and winding benches while looking past the city and towards the sea, is a sight that summed up our trip.
In fact, this unique park and the walk around it, has a terrific view of Barcelona city. It is a neat place where you can just soak up yourself with ambiance and the local atmosphere.
You can’t miss this very pleasant park to walk on a hillside, lots of stairs, inclined steep paths, breathtaking architecture and even picnic in while in Barcelona. Another reason for you to add this in to your bucketlist!
I hope that this inspires you to explore a new place this summer.
