Barcelona has always been in my bucket list, even though my bucket list is continuously being altered, updated and rejuvenated. Without a doubt, my dream to visit Barcelona came true.
Being the first time in Barcelona, I didn’t know exactly what to expect but being my second time in Spain, I was sure that it wasn’t going to disappoint.
At the end of our trip, I had fallen in love with the city: From the street performances, food, history, the people, and plethora of activities.
Why I Fell In Love With Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the world’s leading touristic destination with numerous recreational areas, one of the best beaches in the world, mild and warm climate, historical monuments, including eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites and well developed tourist infrastructure.
The Sun Kissed Shores of Barcelona
Given that our visit to the capital of Catalonia was during the summer, a day on the sun kissed beaches of Barcelona, was on our list of things to do. And trust you me, it was a great experience.
Indeed, no trip to Barcelona is complete without a visit to its famous beaches. From bustling Barceloneta to nudist Mar Bella and tranquil Caldetes; The choice is all yours!
What Experience at The Beaches of Barcelona
They are great for activities like windsurfing and kite surfing. The water is also ideal for swimming.
And for the food, there are some great seafood eateries along the shores and also there are plenty of tapas joints and beach shacks worth popping into.
For us, we were in need of some rest, therefore we just lied down and soaked ourselves up with the warmth of the Spanish sun with the books. We also enjoyed the refreshing drinks from one of the many beach huts.
While visiting the city of Barcelona, you can’t miss a stop over at one of the Barcelona beaches.
- The beaches are very clean and the water is clear and fresh
- There are special beach police patrols to keep the beaches safe
- Red Cross lifeguards with boats always on duty to keep the swimmers safe
- They can also be a bit crowded especially during the Summer
- Easily accessible by use of public transport
