Langkawi

Langkawi is one of the islands that I would recommend any traveler to add to their bucket list. But one of the top questions that I have been getting, is how to get around Langkawi? The following are tips from our own experience on this island that we fell in love with:

✦ From the Airport to the Resort

The best way to get to the hotel or the resort where you will be staying is by the use of a taxi. And it is not just any taxis, get the GrabTaxi. This is a very effective taxis system that exists in Malaysia. They are affordable and they ensure that you don’t have to wait for a taxi for a long period of time. Also, you will be able to know the price of your trip before booking the taxi.

Just download the GrabTaxi on your phone and you are good to go.

I know one of the worries for any traveler, is not being able to communicate with the locals. In Langkawi or in Malaysia in general, this should not be a problem. This is because the majority of people can speak English.

✦ Moving Around the Island

Riding a Scooter in Langkawi

Langkawi is one of those islands in the world that are not big in size but it has everything you need to have a memorable holiday. One of the best ways to explore this island is by use of scooters. This is because there are no public means of transport to get around.

There are a lot of places where you can rent a scooter. And they will charge you per day and they are pretty affordable. Remember to bring with you your identity card or passport and the driving license from your home country.

Do not worry about the status of the roads on this island. This is because the roads are all in good condition and it is safe to drive around the island. Besides, the majority of the locals ride in scooters and the motorists are not aggressive. You will have one of the best holidays in your life!

✦ How to Get Around Langkawi to the Tourists Attractions

To get to the majority of the tourist attractions in Langkawi by a scooter is hundred percent possible. And the best thing about these attractions is that they have parking space for them.

Of course, there are factors that you have to consider, for instance, if you are traveling with young children, it’s better to rent a car. Another thing to think about is like getting to the Kilim Geopark, you’ll have to take a boat. Or are you planning to get to Langkawi Sky Bridge? Then you’ll have to take the Langkawi Cable car.

Finally, it is how to get to the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. After your drive and then park your scooter, the electric bike, or the rental car, you’ll have to walk on a steep climb to get to the waterfall. Fortunately, they also have jeeps to get you there if walking is not something for you. And it is at a cost. Remember that whatever you decide to use in this top destination, enjoy the adventure, and make it memorable!
