Everything changes as you get older – your mind, your body and the way you view the world. One of the reasons why I really love my age! 😉 When I turned the big 30, so many things went through my mind and I knew it was about time to have a meeting with myself. The first step I took was to take some distance from everything and everyone around me at that time. It was kind of meditation and reflection moments. My ideal way; I took a vacation alone. It wasn’t easy but for sure I was able to see things clearly.
Of course there were some disappointments and also achievements but no regrets. This was my turning point and definitely, I had to make the right decisions about my life. As the CEO of your life, you have the ability and the authority to make the important decisions in it. One of the big decision I had to make, was consciously to surround myself with the right people. They say ,“Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” When you delete people who never add value to your life, good things will start happening for you and it won’t be a coincidence!
The next step was to get rid of anything that weighed me down. As we go through the journey of life, it’s part of it to have ups and downs but I made a decision to be optimistic. I became an incurable optimist and a great believer in never looking back but once in a while, it’s gratifying to look back and see how far I have come. I learnt also to discipline myself to continue expanding, broadening, learning, keeping my mind active and open. Why, if you may ask me, because I am running my own race and so is everyone.
